The Buccaneers organization decided to honor a most deserving Mike Alstott with a ceremony at Sunday night's game against the Seawhawks. After all Mike Alstott has done for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay area at large, after all the thrilling football moments, after all the hours of time dedicated to helping those less fortunate than himself, it was time to publicly thank a local legend. Great idea, and long overdue, but
DO YOU THINK YOU COULD HAVE SPELLED HIS FUCKING NAME RIGHT ON HIS COMMEMORATIVE JERSEY? IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK, YOU GODDAMNED SUBMENTALS?! ALSOTT? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

EDIT: It has been brought to my attention in comments, and also by Roame via the telephone, that the jersey misspelling was intentional at the ceremony. Regardless, the joke was in poor taste, and it's certainly not funny. The misspelling on Mike's first game day jersey is forgiveable, but to resurrect this little bit of so-called hilarity during his ceremony is ham-handed and stupid. This smells like the work of the Glazer Bobsey twins. You two mooks, your Amish father, and the rest of the Bucs front office shall remain on the Wet List until you are dethroned by a fresh bag of douchiness. Ozone has spoken.

QJ and I were in attendance for Mike's night. We love MARK Alstott!
(We checked out some of Brother Roame's set at Gate B leading up to the game. Particularly memorable was the "I say Tampa, you say Bay" chant he was rapping during the What I Got refrain. Nice!)
That jersey is actually the one Mike wore in his very first game as a Buc and yes they mispelled it that day. The rest of the ceremony was great. Gruden had the nerve to hug him and carry on like he was his long lost son in the pregame portion of the event.
What could have been?? Oh well...
At least the Bucs will have a ring of honor starting next year and I look forward to every induction. AND the creamsicle uni's will be back for at least one game next year. Whoo hoo!!

PS. To that A-hole Red Sox fan who was dressed in full garb and carrying on like an idiot, inciting the crowd down in the corner of the North end zone, you are a freaking tool, a disgrace and you got what you deserved. Have a little more class next time. Memo to Red Sox Nation, PLEASE stop acting like.. well punk ass Yankee fans!!

How the hell do they misspell the guys name and send him out there without anyone noticing??? It wasn't like he was some unknown late rounder.
No matter how you slice it, it was so very "Buc-cish". But, what can you expect? With their long history of ineptitude, they haven't had a ton of practive honoring their greats. Let's hope they do a little better when they start the ring of honor and we don't end up with the likes of "Mark Alsott", "Darren Brooks" "Dewey Selmon", "Don Williams", "Josh Lynch" and so on.
